Hi again.

When you turn on iCloud photos on a device, it has to assume everything on that device is needed. All the photos will exist merged into iCloud.

Only when you are CURRENTLY syncing a device with iCloud will deletions on one synced device (including icloud.com) be replicated to iCloud, and and so to all other synced devices. Note also - merely deletions which are carried out within the photos app (or in iCloud.com) are replicated. If y'all (for example) delete the whole library using finder, and so the libraries on other devices are not impacted.

Nevertheless - you lot should Ever take a fill-in of your libraries. Time car is a good way of doing this. iCloud is NOT a backup.

And no - if you turn off iCloud photos on a device, then the photos are still kept in iCloud as long as y'all accept a program large enough to store them all. If y'all abolish your iCloud program so they volition exist deleted subsequently a time.

Hi OrigamiFan1

Cheers and noted on the respond. While we are at this, I have one more question and would like to come across if you lot know the respond:

Say if my icloud photos is on on my iphone right at present and I plough that off , having downloaded and kept all the originals.

So if I were or something caused icloud to delete some photos in the cloud, when I turn icloud photos back on on my iphone, will the originals be deleted on my iphone as well?

I saw some information online saying originals won't be deleted in this case and both libraries should merge, but I have also seen other people say iphone will update according to what's on icloud and will delete the disappeared originals automatically. Which way would information technology be?

And if I plough off icloud photos, are the photos but kept on the cloud for thirty days?
